Do you have a particular training plan you use/recommend?
I've used, and continue to try, lots of different training methods and programs. Currently, I'm loving a blend of lifting, HIIT sprints, LISS cardio, and high intensity bodyweight resistance workouts. The only guide I'm using at the moment is for my resistance training, I'm using Kayla Itsines BBG.
How often do you train?
I usually train 5-6 days/week but structure my weeks so different muscle groups have time off to recover. If I start feeling burned out, I take an extra rest day.
What is your diet like?
Constantly evolving! For a more in depth look at my nutrition journey, check out my macro series on the blog.
I've found the most effective thing for me, and most people, is macro tracking. It's important that you have targets set by a professional for your goals and have them updated as you see how your body responds. Tracking macros can be tedious but its incredibly effective for reaching your goals. After the first two weeks or so you get into the swing of things and it's not too bad. It also helps to have an arsenal of recipes which I hope I can provide you here.
I currently use an online nutrition coach (Avatar Nutrition) for my nutrition/marcro targets. I like that they adjust your targets weekly based on how your body responds and that they're various programs seem to work really well for my body.
Do you blog for a living?
No, I don't. It's this little side gig that evolved unexpectedly. I actually have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry and work in biotech, specifically cancer genetics. I love my job.
Where do you teach yoga?
Currently I only teach corporate yoga twice a week. With my schedule being as busy as it's all I really have time for.
